SEO Services and Digital Marketing
Keywords are critical to any SEO campaign. You must choose the right ones if you want to get the most traffic to your website. They are also important for pay-per-click (PPC) advertising and other marketing channels.
There are four major types of keywords, including short-tail, long-tail, topical, and commercial. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages.
A short-tail keyword is usually a single word or two, while a long-tail is a longer phrase. Both of these are more specific and thus easier to rank for.
A topical keyword, on the other hand, is a keyword related to a particular subject. This may be something as basic as food. It can also be a highly-specific topic, such as the best type of coffee maker.
A commercial keyword is a keyword that reveals user interest in a product. Typically, it’s one that leads to a purchase. A good example of a commercial keyword is the “best email marketing tools” – this shows that the searcher is in the early stages of the buying cycle.
A product keyword is a term or phrase used to describe a particular item, such as a laptop or a jacket. A product keyword is generally a shorter, more esoteric version of a short-tail keyword.
The “so what” is a question you might want to ask yourself before you invest too much time into a keyword research project. There are many things to consider, but the longest and most esoteric of all is, “What is the most appropriate term for my business?” This is the key to a successful SEO strategy.
